This major automotive retailer has Tire Dealer & Repair Shop in 38 states, generating over $1 Billion annually. With over 15 internal and external products, many areas of design and development needed to converge into one working system. My team and I was tasked with rebuilding their current design system from the ground up to be consistent, efficient, and concise.
Carbon uses tokens and themes to manage color. Tokens are role-based, and themes specify the color values that serve those roles in the UI. (colors have been altered for confidentiality)
Icons were scaled to 4 pre-defined sizes.
Icons were made available in Regular, Solid and Duotone.
The traction type scale was built using the modular scale methodology, with 3 weights.
